If you have a problems with your prestashop search module, probably you miss anything there. First ensure that the search module is installed on your prestashop installation.
If the problem persist, perhaps you should make sure that the products or category that you are trying to search is exist.
If you have create category,subcategory and make the products and you try to search at got blank search results page, then you must try this:
Go into your back office, select Preferences->Search.
You should see a section called Indexation (sp)
click Re-build entire index.
